kidlings

We sat on opposite couches, SO similar to what we did SO many years ago... watching a movie. Though this time, the scene had changed slightly...
First off, the couches were nice leather, the good stuff, not the crap stuff. The home was her big-ass house just outside of the city instead of our little apartment that we loved very much, many many moons ago... and instead of some big budget feature, it was Disney, and instead of blankets, we each had one of her kids. Her daughter asked to snuggle with Auntie on me, and her son was snuggled on her. We laid there, all content, and she laughed and said to me: sorry we're not very exciting today.
Seeing as the night before was partying it up at one of the biggest parties in Canada.
Oh, did I mention the entire downtown core was covered in water from a massive flooding only 2 weeks previous leading up to this party?
Needless to say - the city had some issues to deal with.
The trip was awesome. My friends' kids are pretty amazing in their own rights, and well, their moms mean the world to me, so they are pretty damn special to me too :)
Many stories, the most 'interesting' at the big-ass party... but I'll save that one for myself and leave you with this...
We made friends with a group of guys who we thought were quite tame, later to find out (at the strippers, yes, we went to the strippers with them later in the eve, just for a fun ending before going home), that a couple of them were drug dealers. Oh and one of the strippers in the private room we had was a childhood friend of one of the girls I was with... ha!
Needless to say - if we had known earlier, we probably wouldn't have gone, but then again, we have better stories because we didn't know :)
